Editing pass completed

May 8, 2008February 27, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

After going to a friend's birthday dinner tonight I returned home and managed a pass through the 1,000-word horror story that I wrote a few weeks ago. Then I sent it off to one of my first readers for comment. Hooray for writing progress! I also had a brainstorm in the car the other day… Continue reading Editing pass completed →

I finished transcribing my new 1,000-word short story into electrons yesterday. I'm looking forward to making an editing pass through it soon and sending it out to readers for critique.

Location, location, location

April 21, 2008February 27, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

I spent this past weekend writing at the cottage.  The weather for mid-late April was fantastic; warm and sunny without much wind. So nice in fact that I spent the bulk of my time writing outside near the lake with either a beer or coffee. I'm heading north for the first time since January this weekend to do some writing. Now I just have to figure out what to write. There's a short, short story I'd like to finish drafting and a longer short story that is also jostling for attention. Or if I finish the short, short I can… Continue reading Writing weekend →

Thinking in words? Not so much

April 15, 2008February 27, 2009 Mark Ladouceur4 Comments

I've always thought visually; in images. I can see the view out the window, the look exchanged between characters, and… Continue reading Thinking in words? Not so much →

This is me sending out a story again

April 5, 2008February 27, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

After much dragging of my feet, I've finally picked a new market to send one of my stories too. Don't know why it took so long other than just inertia. The MS is printed, the SASE included (for easy rejection), and it's all set to go to the post office.

The water fight

Got in a water fight at Ad Astra's dance, which was totally not my fault. No matter what anyone says. Really.
