A short post, because of family busyness, and Game of Thrones is on soon. Made some nice progress today on the fan fiction exercise. Signed up at FanFiction.net and posted the first part of it there.
So, another day another small collection of words put to pixel. But it's all progress. Part of putting my writing life back in order is sifting through the abandoned structures of unfinished stories, and down the lane-ways of old ideas. Some of that could be recoverable. More of it should be plowed under. It's all… Continue reading Day 2
That person is me. The place is my basement, at the moment. The problem is getting back on track with writing. Looking back on my past posts, I've made this complaint before. So this is an extended problem. The best way to get past it is to just sit my ass in the chair and… Continue reading A person in a place has a problem
Writing distraction Vacation planning, flight booking, errands, and watching TV with my wife, kept me from getting any writing done tonight. Writing success Well not tonight, but last night I added a bit on to my writing exercise (fan fiction).
Writing distractions today:Community again. Community season 1 and 2 are hilarious. At times cartoon-like, and at others amazingly poignant and meaningful. I'm hoping to keep up the pace, although part of it has been to dominate the leader-board on the writing tracking site I… Continue reading Over two straight weeks of productivity
I've worked the past 5 nights to finish edits on a short story, so far titled "Guardian of the Heart". Now I have just one last scene to rewrite and that'll be that. And right after it's done I can start edits to the novelette I drafted late last year.
From the web site I use to track my writing progress, my output graph lately looks like a patient about to give up the ghost. I've only managed to get a hundred or so words once or twice a week for the past few months. But things are looking up! The patient isn't dead yet.… Continue reading He’s not dead yet
It's been days now and I haven't managed to set aside the little bit of time I need to get even a small chunk of writing done.
Since my last writing-related entry I've finished first drafts for a short story and a novelette. Now though, as the pro market suffers a sudden bout of shrinkage I've been wondering how much effort I should be putting into it. I expect, though I'm no expert, that it means unprecedented competition from new/relatively unpublished authors like… Continue reading Writing update
