I recently read a blog post that advocated spelling, and by extension revision, is only for the weak and timid. Bullshit. The internet is full of content by people that is dashed off at a frenzied pace and posted without any further regard. Perhaps because time is short and there's just so much information out… Continue reading Teh internet as an excuse for sloppiness

Back from World Fantasy Convention 2007
Just one week ago I was in Saratoga Springs at the World Fantasy Convention (probably at the bar), though we were at the time having tea. Scotch came later, as it always does at these things.I had a good time that weekend and I'm being lazy in not having posted something about it until now.… Continue reading Back from World Fantasy Convention 2007

World Fantasy Convention 2007
I'm off tomorrow night to the World Fantasy Convention in Saratoga Springs, New York. It should be fun to see a lot of friends whom I haven't seen in many months and listen to readings by some of the pros in the field.

Unfortunately I missed the third one because of dinner on Saturday. On Sunday… Continue reading Back from Polaris
In and out
Well, F&SF rejected Company Car. Oh well. Off it goes again, this time to Weird Tales. At least on the same day I received the rejection I also received a good review on it from a writer I respect.
Old short story returns from the dead
I recently re-read an old short story from my folder of dead ends. It's the first time I've looked in there for signs of life. One story surprised me by showing some promise. Tonight I finished transcribing edits that I made to the hard copy last Friday on my night out. This is kind of… Continue reading Old short story returns from the dead
