Reached page 400 on the 25th (about 100,000 words). Then things slacked off again until today when I was able to work out some necessary details. I'm now ready to bring the first draft to its conclusion.

Hit page 360 (90,000 words) by going through 16 pages in one day. That's the second highest single day output so far.

A major change in the plot. I tightened up the entire last section of the book. It took most of the day, so I only put out 5 pages (reaching 344).

I reached 320 today. It was a little slow last week.

It is April 10 as I write this. The manuscript stands at 305 pages today (just over 75,000 words). In terms of the plot outline, I'm two thirds done and have three and a half weeks left. I spent most of this month doing the preparations for my leave, which started at the beginning of February. This included final changes to the plot outline and character sketches for the major characters. I also fiddled quite a bit with the geography and culture of the world for the story. The major events of the plot for the novel started to gel. I had a good sense at this point of the story, but not on a detailed level. One of the major characters changed sex, which helped create some additional conflict for the storyline.
