I spent most of this month doing the preparations for my leave, which started at the beginning of February. The major events of the plot for the novel started to gel. I had a good sense at this point of the story, but not on a detailed level. One of the major characters changed sex, which helped create some additional conflict for the storyline.

I had a major breakthrough with a short story that had been bothering me for an inordinate amount of time. While Liz and I were at the cottage I finally figured out the plot that would satisfy me.
