Can't believe that the World Fantasy Convention is only two days away. Looks like it should be an interesting/productive/fun time. I won't be doing any readings, but will be taking in as much of the programming as I can.
Slight rebound
In the ongoing, but not necessarily interesting, saga of my career, I came home to find a request for a phone interview at a company I recently applied for. This balances out the rejection from earlier in the day.
Recent reads
I've finished a few books in the past month and had a run of three very good books to offset several mediocre reads before that. The books: A Small and Remarkable Life, by Nick DiChario Old Man's War, by John Scalzi The Eyre Affair, by Jasper Fforde What I just realized while typing this out… Continue reading Recent reads
Flash fiction posting
I posted the following bit of flash fiction (really, really short stories) over at Julie E. Czerneda's news group. I'm posting it again here just for kicks. Enjoy.Jake stumbled into his room upstairs at the hotel, head spinning from cheap whiskey. That didn't stop him from drawing his pistol at the sight of the figure… Continue reading Flash fiction posting
Today’s watchword: was

Web site update
One thing I neglected to mention is that I finally updated my web site to something more modern. I dumped the former table-dependent layout and went with XHTML and CSS. There are still a few bugs to work out in the stylesheet, but I think they're minor. Hopefully minor.

I had a fantastic vacation, but didn't make time to update this blog. I was busy completing a number of graphic design projects I'd promised to friends and associates. Since my work day lasts about 12 hours this was my first chance in a long time to catch up. I didn't do as much writing… Continue reading Vacation over

In more words: I went along with a number of other Mythspring author’s to Canada Book Expo as part of Red Deer Press’s promotion for the anthology. They scheduled us to do a… Continue reading Book Expo Canada
