Novel progress

It is April 10 as I write this. The manuscript stands at 305 pages today (just over 75,000 words). In terms of the plot outline, I'm two thirds done and have three and a half weeks left. I'm feeling a little anxious. I lost most of yesterday and part of today making a decision on… Continue reading Novel progress →

Novel progress

March 30, 2002February 27, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

March was more productive than February. I finished the month at around 260 pages. The progress felt good and the story was much to my liking. The exciting bits had of course been fun to write, but the connecting scenes were hard. By the end of the month I figured I was about halfway through… Continue reading Novel progress →

Novel progress

February 28, 2002February 27, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

The current working title… Continue reading Novel update →

Started working in earnest on developing the plot for my novel. I added a major character and started planning what events should happen in the story.

A bit of a wasteland in terms of progress on any project. I organized some things I wished to do with my short stories, but put them aside. Spent a good deal of time playing a computer game, and otherwise futzing around.

Writing lack

September 28, 2001July 10, 2013 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

World events intrude on writing time and after September 11, I don't have the urge to sit down and write. This continued for most of the month. It also didn't help that I was shifting gears at the time from working on short fiction to the novel.

I had a major breakthrough with a short story that had been bothering me for an inordinate amount of time. While Liz and I were at the cottage I finally figured out the plot that would satisfy me.
