So I’ve had my misconceptions about giving away my short fiction online corrected. Thanks to the friends who commented on my last post. Good short fiction is still worth being paid for. And it is. I’ve just had a lackluster record in being paid for mine.
Most of the previous post came from listening to too many podcasts that talk about podcasting fiction. And reading too many discussions about the state of market and what’s to be done about it. There’s been a lot of that lately, and it makes me question my prospects in the market. Podcasting or blogging a story was my knee-jerk reaction to what to do about it.
What I should probably question is whether or not short fiction is my game. Maybe I should focus my limited writing time on novel length writing.
Have you considered self-publishing?
See my previous post. I got slapped down for considering it. 🙂
This inspired a post on my own blog
