Writing bits

July 5, 2003February 27, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

Spent a good part of the day updating a file on the setting of Corruption of Power. Some things were still from the first draft, and the world has evolved since then. Also finished reading "Chronoliths", by Robert Charles Wilson.

Finished my first pass through what I'm calling the submission copy of Corruption of Power. I'll let it sit for a week or so then go through for a proofread.

The craptacular London hotel

June 22, 2003March 3, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

Ah yes, the hotel. To start, our room was small and we received one towel each (no face cloth, hand towel or bath mat). We had to specifically request a clean one the next day. Novel revisions

Got through the rewrite of the first chapter and started the second chapter this past weekend. So far it's going well. I had the cottage to myself so I was able to really work fast. I was also able to start marking up the hardcopy of chapter 2.

I've combined seven chapters into three because they're so short in the original and reordered them to have my protagonist go first. I've taken the outline that I used for myself and started rewriting it to sell the book. Right… Continue reading Writing update →
