Made some good progress editing my novelette "Failure of Flesh" tonight. Only 50 manuscript pages left to go. Snippet: "Wild Bear, chieftain of the people of Cold Lake, felt every one of his fifty-three years burning in his chest as he sucked in gasp after gasp of frigid air. Day 23: Writing Progress

I trimmed a lengthy opening down by pages and pages to get things rolling along faster. If I make enough trims, I might… Continue reading Day 23: Writing Progress
Novel update
Finished revisions to the submission copy and I'm getting feedback from my readers. I should be able to incorporate copy editing changes soon.
Writing bits
Spent a good part of the day updating a file on the setting of Corruption of Power. Some things were still from the first draft, and the world has evolved since then. Also finished reading "Chronoliths", by Robert Charles Wilson.
Finished for now
Finished my first pass through what I'm calling the submission copy of Corruption of Power. I'll let it sit for a week or so then go through for a proofread.
Novel revisions
Finished editing chapter three of the submission copy of Corruption of Power. Once I do the outline for the rest of the story I can review it one last time. Should be ready for that by the weekend.
Never ending revisions
Finished the markup of the hardcopy for the second chapter and entered it. Started working on the third chapter.
Novel revisions
Got through the rewrite of the first chapter and started the second chapter this past weekend. So far it's going well. I had the cottage to myself so I was able to really work fast. I was also able to start marking up the hardcopy of chapter 2.
Whheeww
Just finished 15 hours of draft work and finally, finally brought the second draft of my manuscript to its conclusion. Good lord, I need a scotch. And then some rest, but not until I've gone through and accepted all the tracked changes.
Time to review
It was time to go back and read the first draft in its entirety. Took the weekend up north and a few days after to finish it. Overall, I'm pleased with it. It starts strongly, but I can see where in the writing process that I only had one more month left and a lot… Continue reading Time to review
