Well, it’s done.
I finished the novel on Monday August 2. It was a late night, but well worth the sleepiness next day.
This represents the first full pass through the manuscript since September 2002. Before that it’s been starts and aborted ideas. I never really got past the first half of the book. That mad rush at the cottage two weeks ago put me over the top and gave me the momentum to finish.
I’m quite happy with the way this draft has turned out. Liz and a few other friends are going to be reading it now and hopefully giving me feedback on a final version.
While they do that, I’ll be working on a story for the anthology I’ve been invited to contribute to.
The end is in sight at long last, after two and a half years.
