It was time to go back and read the first draft in its entirety. Took the weekend up north and a few days after to finish it.
Overall, I’m pleased with it. It starts strongly, but I can see where in the writing process that I only had one more month left and a lot of story to cover. Things seem a little rushed, especially so at the end.
There’s also a lot of inconsistencies in terms of how things work and some of the geography.
The next stage now is to get the ideas I have down on paper and get ready for the second draft (which I’m using my vacation to start).
