Julie Czerneda had time to read the manuscript for Corruption of Power and came back with some very generous comments on it. Just as importantly were a number of suggestions she had for improving it. A number of other readers have come back with their comments. The response has been very positive. I've come up… Continue reading So far so good

December recap
Well the course finished, thank God. On to some writing. I started consolidating the notes for the book finally. Started rereading it too. Good to get a sense of things again after being away since September. Some things really need changing, and boy it reads choppy at first, but it holds up fairly well. Got… Continue reading December recap
Slow, slow, slow
Another two crappy months for writing. I finished the course at least. I really got nothing done. In trying to procrastinate studying and doing the readings for the course I would piss away my time playing computer games. Nice, eh? I should have been writing if I wasn't going to be studying. Whheeww
Just finished 15 hours of draft work and finally, finally brought the second draft of my manuscript to its conclusion. Good lord, I need a scotch. And then some rest, but not until I've gone through and accepted all the tracked changes.
Still drafting
I spent all month on revising and rewriting changes to the manuscript. Getting close to the end. Hopefully I can pull it off.
Novel revisions

Wound up cutting about 100 pages worth of complete chapters from the manuscript. More deletions came in the form of specific passages and blocks of text… Continue reading Novel revisions
Novel revisions
Having finished reading the manuscript for "Corruption of Power" (working title) I am considering how to proceed. Julie Czerneda (an excellent author) offered to read the second draft! WOOHOO!
Time to review
It was time to go back and read the first draft in its entirety. Took the weekend up north and a few days after to finish it. Overall, I'm pleased with it. It starts strongly, but I can see where in the writing process that I only had one more month left and a lot… Continue reading Time to review
I’M DONE!
Well, I finished the first draft of the novel last night (May 2). It currently weighs in at 429 pages (107,250 words). Just in time for the last day of my leave from work. Next step is to spell check it then read it through myself, beginning to end, to take care of any inconsistencies.… Continue reading I’M DONE!
