Laziness rules

What's this? Oh, yes, right, I have a blog and I've been ignoring it in a huge way. I've also been doing very little writing since early August. No excuse other than pure laziness. I am working on a comeback.

Spelling counts

July 3, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

I found an interesting (to me) article on the effect bad spelling and grammar can have on a blog. http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/errors_by_bloggers_kill_credib.php

Reading so far this year

July 3, 2009July 3, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

This list is far shorter than I would like it to be. Part of that is starting and putting aside more books than usual. I have a second daughter at home now and reading time has been shaved down even further as a result. If it doesn't grab me fast, I'm on to the next… Continue reading Reading so far this year →

Star Trekked

July 3, 2009April 3, 2014 Mark Ladouceur1 Comment

I've put my money towards the Star Trek sequel (seeing it 5 times), because it was probably the most fun I've had at a movie in years. I had planned to review the movie initially, but there are billions of bytes already taken up with those. Instead I just wanted to say what it meant… Continue reading Star Trekked →

Shoes for the apocalypse

May 15, 2009November 20, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

When the apocalypse comes, I've got the shoes for it; a pair of Wolverines. I've had them now for about 7 years and they show no signs of wearing out. I'll be striding across our post-nuclear, or post-zombie, or post-nuclear zombie wasteland for years to come, because these things simply will not wear out. I… Continue reading Shoes for the apocalypse →

video game cliches

May 14, 2009April 5, 2014 Mark Ladouceur1 Comment

You I've recently gone back to a very old (2001) video game on my PS2 called Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. It's fun for a while but gets pretty repetitive in only a short while. So what cliche's are there? You start off with nothing but a rusty dagger and no money, like some transient drifter.… Continue reading video game cliches →

Over two straight weeks of productivity

April 14, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

I've just passed two straight weeks of writing. I've managed to get at least some time each day to either edit a short story, or write a bit more toward my novel. I'm hoping to keep up the pace, although part of it has been to dominate the leader-board on the writing tracking site I… Continue reading Over two straight weeks of productivity →

So very, very close

April 6, 2009November 20, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

I've worked the past 5 nights to finish edits on a short story, so far titled "Guardian of the Heart". Now I have just one last scene to rewrite and that'll be that. And right after it's done I can start edits to the novelette I drafted late last year.

Boldly going anew

March 31, 2009April 3, 2014 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

The new trailer for Star Trek is out. I've watched it a bunch of times. More than I want to admit. It's exciting and flashy. It's not the Trek I grew up with. The new movie caters to a new audience. And why not bring in a new audience? Catering strictly to the old school guarantees that… Continue reading Boldly going anew →

He’s not dead yet

March 31, 2009March 31, 2009 Mark LadouceurLeave a comment

From the web site I use to track my writing progress, my output graph lately looks like a patient about to give up the ghost. I've only managed to get a hundred or so words once or twice a week for the past few months. But things are looking up! The patient isn't dead yet.… Continue reading He’s not dead yet →
